Young Woman Driving Vintage Pickup Truck Killed in Rollover Crash, Personal Injury Law Firm Reports

CHULA VISTA, California – A 25-year-old woman was killed Wednesday afternoon when she lost control of her newly purchased 1955 Chevy pickup truck in a crash witnessed by her father following behind her in his car, according to local news and coroner’s reports.
About 4:40 p.m. on Dec. 28, Wendy Hamabata, 25, of San Diego, was driving north on Interstate Route 805 near East H Street when she swerved into the center divider, struck a post and was ejected from the black pickup truck as it rolled over, according to a San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office report. The vintage truck did not have seat belts installed in it. The young woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The father and daughter had just purchased the truck and were bringing it home. Police are expected to examine the vehicle to determine if there were any mechanical issues with the vehicle. No other vehicles were involved in the collision,
