Huntington Beach resident struck and killed by drunk driver

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA (September 2, 2014)- According to NBC Los Angeles, a 50-year-old male bicyclist by the name of Michael Bastien, was struck and killed Monday evening at approximately 6:29 p.m. on Bolsa Chica Road by a alleged drunk driver.

According to the article by NBC Los Angeles, Bastien was heading southbound on Bolsa Chica Avenue before being struck by a male driving a Mercedes Benz sedan.

Bastien suffered major injuries and showed minimal vital signs. He was rushed to UCI Medical Center where he later succommed to his injuries at approximately 7:06 p.m.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested at the scene for driving under the influence. His has been confirmed to have been a resident of Huntington Beach.

36-year-old Bakersfield woman killed as pedestrian in deadly accident

CASTAIC, CALIFORNIA (September 2, 2014)- According to an article written by SignalSCV.com, a Bakersfield woman has been identified as the victim killed in an accident involving three vehicles at around 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

The fatal accident took place on the northbound Interstate 5 freeway between a 2005 Suzuki Mini-van, a Ford F-250 pick-up truck and a Ford F-450 pick-up truck.

According to SignalSCV.com, both pick-up trucks involved in the collision had pulled over for a moment to re-anchor the motorcycles on the bed of both vehicles. For unknown reasons the driver of the mini-van, 24-year-old Jason Trinidad from Union City, briefly lost control of his vehicle and entered the right hand shoulder where the vehicles were pulled over. Cynthia Ray, a pedestrian at the time, was fatally struck by Trinidad’s vehicle.

The impact of the collision sent the F-250 into the F-450.

Two Bakersfield men were injured in the collision. Rickey Ray Jr., 37-years-old, was injured as pedestrian outside of the vehicle, while Jerry Bradford, 44, was a passenger inside the F-250.

Both Trinidad and his passenger, Lucia Neco, sustained moderate injuries in the crash and were transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.

Authorities are investigating the fatal incident and have ruled out that drugs or alcohol could have played a factor.

23-year-old Delano man flown to Kaweah Delta Medical Center following collision

PORTERVILLE, CALIFORNIA (September 2, 2014)- A deadly head-on collision took place Monday morning at approximately 4:45 a.m. on State Route 65, according to the Fresno Bee.

Per the Fresno Bee, a 63-year-old male of Porterville was driving a 1999 Hyundai Elantra was heading southbound of State Route 65 before crossing over into northbound lanes and colliding head-on with another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, a 2010 Ford Mustang, was a 23-year-old male by the name of Senon Herrera from Delano.

Paramedics quickly arrived to the scene and pronounced the 63-year-old man dead. Herrera sustained serious injuries in the head-on crash and was flown from the scene to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, according to Kern Golden Empire News.

While the accident is still under investigation, officials have ruled out that drugs or alcohol contributed to this tragedy.

One killed; family of 5 all taken to hospital

COALINGA, CALIFORNIA (September 2, 2014)- According to the Fresno Bee, a fatal head-on collision took place between two vehicles on Friday evening, August 29th, at approximately 9:27 p.m.

Per the Fresno Bee, the driver of a 1994 Mazda lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons and swerved into oncoming traffic on Highway 33 before colliding head-on with a 2007 Toyota.

The driver of the Mazda, who has not been identified, was killed in the collision.

The driver of the 2007 Toyota, Scott Martini, sustained minor injuries in the wreck. All four of his passengers were also injured in the crash including 32-year-old, Roselle Martini, and her three children ages 6, 7, and 13. All five occupants were transported via ambulance to the Hanford Medical Center, per the Fresno Bee.

Motorcyclist suffers serious injuries in collision with vehicle

CLOVIS, CALIFORNIA (September 2, 2014)- A injurious collision took place between a motorcyclist and a vehicle took place at the intersection of Copper Avenue and Auberry Road, Monday afternoon at approximately 12:36 p.m., at the intersection of Copper Avenue and Auberry Road.

Per CHP Officers, the motorcyclist was found lying in the middle of the road with serious injuries next to a 2012 Honda Softail motorcycle.

Fire Department and paramedics attended to the injured rider. The motorcyclist was airlifted via a helicopter ambulance with undisclosed injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
