At least one female motorist taken to nearby hospital

ORANGE, CALIFORNIA (September 20, 2014) – A collision between two vehicles took place on eastbound State Route 22 near South The City Drive on-ramp, Saturday evening, California Highway Patrol dispatch team reported.

The two cars involved were a dark Volkswagen Beetle and possibly a grey Nissan 350Z.

The crash, prompting the blockage of the No. 1 lane, occurred at 11:13 p.m.

Officers affirmed that the female motorist of the Volkswagen Beetle was reportedly unconscious.

According to the report log, the driver of the grey colored Nissan 350z testified that he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the Beetle.

The local fire department along with the paramedics rushed to the scene to transport the female motorist, who may have suffered injuries, to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Tow-trucks arrived to remove the vehicles away from the crash site.

At 11:26 p.m., all lanes stopped on bypass.

The incident remains under investigation.

Two injured following collision

HALF MOON BAY, CALIFORNIA (September 20, 2014) – A collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle occurred on State Route 1 near Capistrano Road on Saturday afternoon, California Highway Patrol dispatch team reported.

The crash took place at 4:54 p.m.

According to the officers, a 50-year-old male suffered burn injuries while a 40-year-old male complained of back injuries.

The incident forced both directions of State Route 1 to shut down.

The local fire department and the paramedics rushed to the scene to attend to the injured parties.

Action Towing arrived to assist in the clearing of the crash site.

As of 5:49 p.m., all lanes were opened.

Authorities will determine the motorist responsible for causing the accident once the investigation process is over.

Vehicle overturned, two injured airlifted to nearby hospital

MALIBU, CALIFORNIA (September 20. 2014) – Two people were injured following a collision near the Malibu tunnel early Saturday morning, CBS Los Angeles reported.

Per the article, California Highway Patrol Officer Tony Polizzi affirmed that a vehicle overturned on Malibu Canyon Road, just south of Piuma Road, at 1:15 a.m.

As stated in the article, both patients were airlifted from the scene to a nearby hospital, according to Michael Pittman, a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatch supervisor.

Polizzi said that the CHP is planning to further question at least one of the people in the vehicle, the article included.

The cause of the accident has not been yet disclosed.

The incident is still under investigation.

Two others injured taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital

PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA (September 20, 2014) - The Sonoma County coroner’s office has identified Vernon Hamilton as the Lexus driver who was killed in a head-on crash near Petaluma on Thursday, Petaluma Patch reported.

Per the article, the California Highway Patrol said that 83-year-old Hamilton of Granite Bay was reportedly driving north on Lakeview Highway just south of Browns Lane at about 50-55 mph when he drifted into the southbound lane and slammed head-on into a BMW around 11:45 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP noted in the article that the BMW driver, a 53-year-old Sea Ranch man, suffered major injuries and was extricated from his vehicle. They added that a passenger in the Lexus, a 56-year-old woman, sustained moderate injuries.

Both were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and are expected to survive, the article included.

According to patch.com, authorities testified that they have not determined what caused the Lexus driver to drift into oncoming traffic but they do not believe impairment was a factor in the tragic accident.

The crash forced the roadway to shut down until 2 p.m.

At least one injured motorist taken to hospital

SAN JACINTO, CALIFORNIA (September 20, 2014) – A head-on collision occurred on Ramona Expressway near Pico Avenue on Saturday at 3:40 p.m., California Highway Patrol dispatch team reported.

The two vehicles involved were a semi-truck and a Ford Ranger.

According to the report log, the Ford Ranger was pinned under the big rig.

Officers, meanwhile, affirmed that the semi-truck was empty.

At 4;53 p.m., both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Ramona Expressway were forced to shut down following the accident.

The local fire department and the paramedics rushed to the scene to transport at least one motorist who suffered major injuries to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Tow-trucks arrived to assist in the clearing of the crash site.

As of 6:12 p.m., all lanes were opened.

Authorities will investigate and determine liability.
