 Young girl rushed to hospital

SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA (September 30, 2014) – According to an article by the Santa Barbara Edhat, a young girl was struck by a truck while using a crosswalk last Thursday morning near Franklin Elementary School.

As per the article, the injurious accident took place at the intersection of Voluntario and Carpinteria Streets.

The Santa Barbara Edhat writes that the local Fire Department, emergency medical personnel and the Santa Barbara Police Department responded to the incident.

The name of the young victim, her current condition and the extent of injuries sustained by are unknown at this time.

62-year-old man killed in collision

LANCASTER, CALIFORNIA (September 30, 2014) – According to an article by the Antelope Valley Times, a fatal collision occurred at the intersection of 60th Street West and Avenue I Friday afternoon at approximately 3:50 p.m.

As per the article, initial investigation into the crash indicates that the driver of a white Ford Ranger, that was traveling northbound on 60th Street West, ran a red light and collided with a PT Cruiser.

The driver of the PT Cruiser, 62-year-old David Michael Rollins of Lancaster, was pronounced dead at the scene, writes the Antelope Valley Times.

According to the news report the driver of the Ford Ranger was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

As per the article, CHP says the accident is still under investigation and that no one has been arrested.

U-Haul and Ford Escape collide

BUTTONWILLOW, CALIFORNIA (September 30, 2014) – According to a dispatch by California Highway Patrol, a 2-vehicle accident occurred on the northbound Interstate 5 Freeway near Rowlee Road.

CHP received a call for the incident at approximately 5:17 p.m.

Officers responded to the scene and stated that a U-haul Truck and a Ford Escape were involved in the collision.  CHP noted that at least one person was pinned in their vehicle, requiring extrication, and that at least one subject in the U-haul was not moving.  The Truck ended up in an alfalfa field, according to the dispatch.

The local fire department and paramedics arrived to treat the injured parties, says CHP.  The current condition and the extent of injuries sustained by any party are unknown at this time.

According to the dispatch, Castro Towing was on scene to assist with the removal of wreckage.

Investigators will look into the events that took place and canvas witnesses to determine the cause of accident and liability.

Van runs stop sign and crashes into big rig

THERMAL, CALIFORNIA (September 30, 2014) – According to a dispatch by California Highway Patrol, a two-vehicle collision occurred at the crossing of State Route 111 and 62nd Avenue  on Tuesday Morning .

CHP says the crash took place at approximately 10:48 a.m.

Officers responded to the scene and stated that an unknown make and model white passenger van and a big rig were involved in the wreck.

According to CHP dispatch, the car accident caused a traffic hazards due to the big rig wreck on both northbound and southbound roads on State Route 111.  The second unidentified white passenger van wreck was located on the southbound side of State Route 111.

As per CHP dispatch, the passenger van ran a stop sign and hit the big rig. The van incurred major damage and at least one motorist inside the vehicle became trapped.

The local fire department and paramedics arrived to treat the injured parties.   The current condition and the extent of injuries sustained by any party involved are unknown at this time.

Two Toyota modeled cars collide

EMERYVILLE, CALIFORNIA (September 30, 2014) – An accident between two vehicles occurred on the westbound Interstate 80 just west of Powell Street on Monday evening, California Highway Patrol dispatch team reported.

The crash involving a black Toyota Rav4 and a blue Toyota Sequoia took place at 6:37 p.m.

Both cars were spotted on the right hand shoulder.

According to the officers, the motorist of the black colored Toyota Rav4 hit her chest hard on a deployed airbag following the collision.

The report included that one of the vehicles involved was disabled due to the incident.

The local fire department along with the paramedics rushed to the scene to attend to the motorist who reportedly complained of chest pain.

A tow-truck arrived to assist in the clearing of the crash site.

Authorities will determine the motorist responsible for causing the accident once the investigation process is over.
