Big rig hit-and-run driver detained

FOWLER, CALIFORNIA (July 31, 2014)- Officers with the California Highway Patrol reported a hit-and-run incident resulting in a possible fatality Thursday afternoon at approximately 12:21 p.m. at the intersection of Manning and Fowler avenues.

Authorities arrived to the scene and described a vehicle which was completely totaled in the middle of the roadway. There were two motorists trapped inside the totaled vehicle who were badly injured. One may have been fatally wounded, according to a reporting officer.

CHP officers received a lead from a witness stating the involved vehicle which fled the scene was a big rig transporting onions. The big rig was expected to have massive damage to the passenger side of the truck.

Within 20 minutes, Fresno Sherriff Officer personnel tracked down the culprit and detained him at a truck stop.

At least one of the victims was taken to the Community Regional Medical Center for emergency attention.

Authorities are investigating the devastating hit-and-run incident.

Injured party pinned inside vehicle underneath semi

MODESTO, CALIFORNIA (July 31, 2014)- California Highway Patrol Officers responded to the scene of a injurious accident involving a semi-truck and a vehicle at the address of 320 Codoni Avenue this afternoon at approximately 11:41 a.m.

Per reporting officers, the involved vehicles were a silver Toyota Camry and a black colored semi-truck. The motorist inside the Camry was pinned the vehicle and trapped underneath the semi-truck.

American Medical Response and the local fire department rushed to the scene to assist the injured subject who reportedly sustained serious injuries in the wreck.

The identified party was taken from the scene to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The Toyota was removed from the scene while the semi did not require a tow.

The report log did not disclose details pertaining to what led up to the accident.

Authorities are investigating the injurious accident.

Reckless driver loses control and causes injurious accident

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (July 31, 2014)- California Highway Patrol officers reported an injurious accident involving two vehicles Wednesday evening at approximately 9:37 p.m. at the intersection of Avenue 15 and Road 36.

Officers reflected the two vehicles involved in the accident were a maroon colored 2005 Nissan Maxima with Tennessee license plates which read J9859W and a black Honda. The black Honda was in the middle of the roadway while the Nissan Maxima was on the side of the road near a fence.

Per officers present at the scene, one of the two vehicles was driving recklessly at high speeds before causing the accident.

At least one motorist involved in the crash sustained severe injuries and needed to be transported to a hospital from the scene.

Both vehicles sustained major front end damage and were towed away from the scene.

Officers are investigating the injurious wreck.

Fatality reported in potential hit-and-run fiery crash

BALLICO, CALIFORNIA (July 31, 2014)- California Highway Patrol officer personnel reported a devastating fatal 2-car accident which took place early this morning at 12:46 a.m. at the intersection of El Capitan Way and Ballico Avenue.

According to officers present at the scene, the collision involved a Ford F-150 pick-up truck and an undisclosed sedan possibly a sports utility style vehicle.

The sports utility vehicle had apparently been abandoned as nobody was inside when officers arrived making the crash a potential hit-and-run incident.

The Ford F-150 was described as being engulfed in flames with several female occupants inside.

The California Fire Department along with Merced County Sheriff personnel were called to the scene.

Investigators are looking for possible witnesses who may have information on party who abandoned their vehicle.

An investigation is in process.

Pedestrian injured by vehicle

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (July 31, 2014)- A vehicle struck and left a pedestrian in serious condition Wednesday evening at approximately 10:54 p.m. at the intersection of Gerber and Power Inn roads, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Paramedics arrived to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby medical center.

Very limited details were provided within the report log by the dispatch team.

College Oak Towing removed the involved vehicle as it incurred a significant amount of damage from the collision.

An investigation will ensue to determine the events that led up to the injurious incident.
